QUEEN WILL ALWAYS RULE! [ but not without BRIAN & ROGER !!]

QUEEN RULES!! I don't care what anybody says!!
EVEN NOW!! GOT IT???
Freddie Mercury was the best-the greatest EVERYBODY knows this, HE WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN EVER!!! But he had a band of guys behind him!! These boys are very special-to this day. We lost Freddie & it was a shame, but it was also a shame & a waste that they stopped playing together because they easily could've kept going as a trio & they should've. They are the best band in the world. Brian May, Roger Taylor & John Deacon are an amazing trio, who backed Freddie but were geniuses in their own right. Remember, they all sang & they all wrote & they played almost everything known to man. LISTEN TO THEIR RECORDS!! Freddie wasn't the only one who sang lead!!

BRIAN MAY is the Best Guitarist in the World. [aside from Steve Hackett-there is proof of this since he almost joined GTR, could you just imagine how incredibly sick & fantastic that would've been????] He's also one of the greatest singers that has ever lived. Who ever doesn't realize this, just listen to lead vocals on any Queen album [you can tell who's which -get real !] & listen to his incredible solo albums [unfortunately he only made 2- 'Another World' & 'Back To The Light']. Never have I heard anyone else sing who poured their entire heart, soul & guts into their songs. This man does just that, i defy you to tell me that he's not an amazing vocalist. It's gut-retching! There is, of course-no question of this man's guitar playing. He made his own guitar with his daddy. No one else can say that. [Other guitarists get their names put on guitars they make after they get famous-Brian made his before he
became successful & he got famous because of it !!] He has singled -handedly proven he could've over as lead singer although he won't admit it. His voice is so strong it'll rip your heart out. Where do you think all those backrgound vocals came from. It was a waste not seeing this man play for 10 years & now he's back & I hope they stick around & show these awful new bands what it's really about!

ROGER TAYLOR is an amazing drummer. He's one hell of a singer as well. He's has the highest range of any normal vocalist & also plays every instrument known to man. Even as his 'Galileo' is so known all over the world. His contribution to Queen's madness is unmistakable. His 'I'm In Love WIth My Car' is still known as a classic. Yet he has much more songs in their catalog that completely stand out. The best album for me is 'Jazz'. That has everone of the guys singing & just coming together for one brilliant genius if a record. How he ever managed to sing & play like that is still unbelievable & i don't believe he's ever used a headset. That's incredible. His solos albums are
beyond brilliant, his voice is to die for. Together Brian & Roger are the greatest power guitar & drum duo EVER!! . hey have ever right to keep Queen going between the 2 of them alone. God knows they don't need anyone else. That's Queen.

JOHN DEACON. The quiet one whatever you want to call him. He is one of the most tremedous bass players in the world. I wish he sang. There is no way that he can possible sing as bad as any of these jerks out there right now! The only thing is he's not in this line-up. He is extremely missed. [Please come back, you are all they need-you're all that's missing!]. he's retired. But he is still a genius. He's left us his incredible bass hooks & his very cool amp. John is beyond brilliant as well & that is really all that is wrong with Queen being out there right now. They made one hell of a trio as proven in their brilliant tribute to Freddie 'No One But You'. I wish he would come back, they'll do any he says. [We miss you John, please make an appearance!]

I was talking to a great friend of mine from work who happens to have a Styx song named after her. She said her husband had just bought their new Return Of The Champions record & he said that it 'sounded like Bad Company doing Queen'. That maybe true, but look who playing !!! It was funny. But this isn't Styx remember-while they should've quit a 10 years ago- Queen never should've stopped. They still had Brian & Roger & that's enough. That's their sound, thats Queen. They should've been a duo, but if Paul Rodgers must be there it is fine as long as it's not a Bad Company show.
[At least it ain't that other weirdo who thought he could sing for them-I'm not going to mention his name but if you wanna know-write!!] I'm sure it'll be wonderful. As long as Brian & Roger are there. I DON"T CARE!!! & you shouldn't either. If you don't think that's cool, then don't go see them because if you do & decide to squak at them I will be there & kick the living crap out of you if you dare ruin my show! I've been waiting too long for this & it will be brilliant, just like they are. I have no question. My only wish was that Roger & Brian would sing more of their classics like 'Sleeping On The Sidewalk' & 'Rock It'. If that was the case Paul could just stand aside & watch their genius at work, but he's in it & it's cool. [Actually all I really need for him to do is shave, he looks way too much like the Originator!!!].

So do not think that this QUEEN reunion is wrong. It's more genius in the making.
I cannot wait to see this. I tried to see it in London but the bombings made it impossible [Bastards!] so now I will be seeing them here. Anyone who's in London or Vegas should really check out the musical. It is a brilliant piece of work. Anyway I will defend these boys to my death!! As long as they're together. That will always be enough!! They are the best !! They always will be! No band who has reunited lately will ever sound better than this!!

JOHN PANOZZO-September 20, 1949

Something really cool happened 56 years ago. A set of pretty damn cool twins were born. Crazy little italian boys who had no idea how they would changed the world. One of them is 56 years old today, one of them isn't here any more & that's the worst thing of all. He would've been 56 today along with his brother , but we're here to talk about why one particular part of this twin set was so incredible- Why no one seems to acknowledge what he did & what he left behind- why no one cares to remember him properly & why his legacy is being destroyed by a fluff drummer, who seems to have no clue in preserving his music. It's his birthday & I'm still mad, because I can't forget any of this!

Not that I want to get into any crap on his birthday, a day that should be celebrated. For John Panozzo was the Greatest!! We're all lucky he [& Chuck] was born at all. Otherwise there would be no STYX, or any of the poseurs who followed! While drummers in any & all bands are considered to be the backbone of the band or the lowest of the line of musicians who stand in a band, whether they write or sing the music or not, they add something to a song that not a guitarist, singer, keyboardist, horn player, producer or songwriter could ever have imagined placing in a song. It's not like we get told what to do in a song, that's virtually impossible unless you're a drummer or you feel what is possibly going on with a certain song you'd need a certain beat for.

What John Panozzo did not only for Styx but for the world of drumming is beyond belief. How no one else realizes his Genius baffles me. For some strange-very ridiculous reason, he was only on the cover of Modern Drummer ONCE ! [a drum magazine that used to be cool]. Did they have any better drummers to talk to ? Maybe , but come on-1972-1995? That magazine has been around for what? 50 years?? Maybe longer than that? Or less! I lost count believe me [I guess it doesn't look like I'll ever get interviewed by them after this!]. Just their 1st 5 albums alone need 20 interviews right there. He had an amazing smooth way of playing- for a guy. If ladys care about this, there was something about his drumming that no other male drummer can really say they have- Class. At least this is what I saw as a drummer trying to find an inspiring drummer who wasn't playing like a maniac & just trying to bang so that hey could be heard. As crazy as was, as soft as he may have sounded, the particular methods he used in all the Styx songs from STYX 1 to Edge Of The Century were copied by virtually every drummer that came after him after he found them useless. For example, they have a fantastic song called 'Born For Adventure' [from the genius of Equinox] which is beyond sick in itself for being just about 'women , whisky & sin..., the ending is very funny. If you know any about drumming [for drummers only] & what drumming used to be & what drumming has become lately! [pause!...] you'll know that he -in all the songs he's played in his career- never ended a song like that. But every other idiot who came after him ended every song in the world like that-AFTER !! [I told this to my little girl & she thought that was hilarious!] But it's true! Every one in the world made their living playing like John Panozzo! [I can't even begin to talk about what a genius his brother Chuck also is on bass without making a whole other blog of him alone-but I will say this- they're related!!!] He rarely played shuffles but could do it better than anyone, he rarely did drum solos but did them better than anyone, he had a giant set but it was not for show-he used everything had onstage [including-if you've ever seen the Paradise Theatre videos- some extremely huge Orchestra bells that are only used for classical musicians & in certain churches. He had them to his right. Very cool.]

John Panozzo was something very special. When he passed on July 16, 1996. It was not a day I wanted to remember. There were tributes- but not enough-in my mind & as I search the web for the tributes that were shared at the time for this... are now all gone. Not a trace of what this man left behind except his music. The music that he didn't write much of - but for what he did to those Styx songs would not be anything if it weren't for the Panozzos! I found a few very beautiful things, but it's not what John Bonham has, or Keith Moon, Buddy Rich, Tito Puente or any of those who left us & John Panozzo should be remembered as such!- a Legend because that is exactly what he is. This band might be known for what 2 ballads? When all they're other songs rocked?? They're never going to be remembered for the progressive rock band that they started to be & still were when they made their Kilroy Was Here album. Only later did they do just a few concept albums but that was what made Styx exciting-adventurous & really damn good! As good as any other band on the planet! [except Queen!!]

John smiled when he played, which is extremely rare for any drummer-he made it look easy-when it's NOT!! He seemed to love every second he was up there. He never hid away under a huge batch of drums & cymbals, you could always see him, which was important. He had a huge set but he was never hidden behind a head of long metal hair & believe it or not he was always well dressed for a drummer. He had class all the way. I don't know if there's a Drummer's Hall of Fame but there should be & he should be in it. All I know is that I miss him like hell & there will never be another drummer in the world like him.

God knows his old band should've ended as well, but they kept going for no good reason whatsoever. No good reason I saw. Now his music-his classics- are being played with not so much as an inch of feeling that they used to have. They sound worn out & tired like they never should have sounded & that's a shame. All they needed to do was change the band's name because it's not the same, it'll never be the same & for that they have ruined their chance not only to get in the Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame but also the chance for them to be really remembered....for John & Chuck to be remembered as one of the Greatest Bass & Drum duos of ALL TIME!-to be remembered for being the 1st band to have 4 Quadruple Platinum albums in a row!!-to be remembered as one of the greatest Live Bands of All- time! To be remembered as one of the greatest Progressive rock bands of All-Time!! For them to get the respect hey deserved all those years ago. That they should've gotten when their 1st album came out! Styx will always be a Classic band that ended in 1996 when we lost John Panozzo. What you're seeing now is Damn Yankees with a Cool Canadian!

I thought my life ended when his did. Everything went downhill after that & not coincidentally either. Music got bad, the world got bad, bands got really bad with horrible drummers [I don't what the hell that's about but that's another blog!], I got bad, Dennis was right about Mr. Roboto taking over the world:computer-wise, & literally predicted their demise in the song Earl of Roseland [I can see Charlie on the porch-Johnny clicking his sticks and two boys I don't even know -rehearsing electric string tricks] but I'll tell you , I found a few very cool musicians who are now my family & have convinced me that we can keep this man alive! As long as we play him right! The way he should be played! & That's what WNTDTYR is set out to do!

'So Happy Birthday Johnny wherever you may be, I hope you're happy & not sick at what the band's doing to your drumming. I wish you were here to kick the guy's ass, like you're still doing. I miss you more than you'll ever know. I hope I didn't blab too much on your birthday because I didn't wanna do that. I wish I'd told you what a Genius you were when met you & I thought you were adorable as a blond! I wished we'd hung out with Chuck & you guys could've told me how the hell you played Earl Of Roseland without fainting! You were the best, you still are the best & I hope somehow I can live up to your legacy, because you were the only guy drummer I really cared about! You do have some followers that have lived up to your greatness & I promise I'll make sure no one ever forgets you!'

luv, Rozzie

FAKE PIANO CHICKS SUCK!!! SO DOES VAN HALEN!!

Mercy, mercy me- WHEN WILL IT END??? I just got thru watching another horrible video from some new awful chick trying to play piano & thinking she's doing something great!!! I got the new girl's name but I don't even want to mention her on my little blog, but I swear! - If anyone asks for their names I will gladly answer this blog with the culprits!! [Besides if you'd like a clue, she sounds just like every other dumb blond broad out there & she thinks she's playing piano like the other annoying piano chick.] It's like there's a record company scuzzoid bum taking little girls & telling them why don't we give you a piano you can sit on & look cute??? People will dig it ! [Yeah, they'll think you're talented!!] I don't get it. Now it's the poor piano that seems to be getting tortured by these stupid little broads! [The big one- who is so popular now, who annoyed us with her very annoying 1st record- who has been playing every major benefit in recent days is probably on her 3rd album of playing the same piano chords as her 1st 2 records & people just seem to love her. I don't know why because she sucks!!]. Unfortunately, they all sound like Phil Collins trying to play piano [sorry Phil-stick to the drums-PLEASE!!]. But I'd still rather hear Phil play than these little chicks, at least he does something viable with it!!

The whole point of this is that I just don't understand what these girls are thinking [I never use that term, they are in no way close to being what my site calls a LADY!!]. I'm sure [at least I hope!] That these girls do play the piano, is what they do with it that sends me skyhigh!! There is no point in playing an instrument if you are not going to do something a special with it, so LEAVE IT ALONE & STOP MAKING US REAL MUSICIANS LOOK BAD!!! All I want is for the LADYS out there to play an instrument & rock!- NOT to sound like these little broads. What is the point of this???? It's no wonder why we don't have a keyboardist in our band. But I can assure you if we did [ & we do!-Ha!], it ain't gonna sound anything like that.
There are littl
e girls all over the world seeing this & thinking that this is cool. WELL IT"S NOT!!!! I PROTEST !! I want all these little chicks banished from the planet unless they decide to learn what REAL MUSIC IS!! This is what Dr. Righteous is actually against!! Dumb little broads playing awful pop music with an instrument that should be banned for life!!! This is wrong. This shouldn't be happening, but for the last 5 years, these fake piano chicks have been taking over our lives. Tori Amos is a total Kate Bush rip-off but at least she really plays piano & can be considered a real keyboardist if so out to the test [no where near Kate Bush of course!!! I swear if any of these chicks get vote best keyboardist for the year there will be hell to pay!! [Girls-save us the trouble of torturing you later- If you don't seriously think about what kind of music you really want to bring into this world for us to listen to & have something significant to say-do not even think of picking up an instrument.] Take them all away already. I'd personally love to get these girls in a room with Kate Bush & Christine McVie & see if they really know a chord or 2! Our own Miss ANjy could waste these little chicks with her pinky! [So could I- by the way!]

Which brings me to the subject of VH. I'm going to initial their name because it's too long already. Believe it or not quite coincidentally thru no fault of my own- this subject pertains to them. They SUCK! Here's why. [the reason I bring them up is because I was just watching one of their vids as well] In 1984- when they were just maybe- kinda- sort of -slightly?? getting cool? They released a vid & song called 'J
ump'. This was the year that Yes, Genesis, Queen, Asia & Styx were huge-mongoid!! 'Jump' featured the 1st time Mr. VH himself played keyboard on their song. For this, he won Best Keyboardist of the Year in every damn poll-ok! OVER - TONY KAYE, TONY BANKS, FREDDIE MERCURY, GEOFF DOWNES & DENNIS DEYOUNG!!! OK!! That's sick! I'm not exactly sure the reason for this, BUT I have a few. 1- Metal-heads at the time hated Progressive Rock so much that they were happy one of their own metal-heads [VH -believe it or not!] learned to play so they voted for him because it was easy for them & they didn't know what the word keyboardist meant anyway & didn't even realize their metalhead decided to play that on a POP record which they hate even more than progressive rock!! 2-Of course, there were pop-sters who didn't know what that was either & just dug how cool the song sounded & said yeah let's vote for him. [Note: I don't think the song is bad myself!-I love David Lee Roth-but more on that later!] My point- this was not real keyboard playing. But alas it won & when they started to get slightly mega-cooler they kicked out David Lee Roth.

Now, let's really get our brains in order here shall we?? All you VH fans? Why do you like VH?? Is it because of David Lee??? Sammy Hagar?? [yeah, right!]Gary Cherone???? NO! Its because of Eddie VH. His guitar playing. Right?? [please- there are much better guitarists in this world!-including the 5 I just named above] But whatever -if he must play- he must play!] It's not because of his voice, because I'll tell you right now, him & that whole band are surely the worst background singers of all time! Never in any song have I heard such screeching & some idiots were even making fun of how Linda McCartney used to sing back-up for her man? At least she even played better keys than VH & any of these dumb chicks. Why can't they just save us the trouble of them fighting over singers & just be an instrumental band?? Wouldn't you all be happy about that??? That way they can put us all out of our misery & stop singing or letting someone else mess up the ok songs they might've had! That I actually mind. But enough with Sammy & leave Dave alone. [I'm not even gonna talk about poor Gary]. So until that happens, they suck!

Daria quote of the week:
" My old soul has already made your aquaintence in a previous lifetime!"

JON ANDERSON & CULTURE CLUB? ! !

Wow, here I am at home waiting for my show DARIA to start, & I'm watching this great Culture Club concert from 1983 & forgotten-that they rocked!! That at the time, actually to this day was one of their best shows. Not only did they have some great songs but they were a pretty good band as well. Even when got back together a few years back they still kicked ass. [Although I had a problem with their new back-up singer/where's Helen Terry?] Anyway, their best song is undoubtedly "Victims", which whoever doesn't cry when they hear this has no feeling what-so-ever. I still think that 'Miss Me Blind has one of the greatest guitar solos ever. Even though Roy Hay is not known at all for his guitar playing, mostly funk-pop beats but that solo still stands out to this day & should be remembered as such! It was really great to see. So that was a pretty cool thing to watch & reminisce about. After coming back from getting my face mutilated with make-up by my artsy guitarist, which I never ever wear, only- if I can avoid it, on Halloweenie!!

As we speak I'm listening to Jon Anderson. His solo stuff. He used to be so damn cute. Now he's all hairy! He made a lot of soundtrack songs in the 80's which were pretty kickin'. One called 'Christie' [which I forgot sounds exactly like "Don't Give Up On Us" by the great DAVID SOUL!] from a wacko movie called Scream For Help, which he had help from John Paul Jones for some reason [Jon in the 80s decided he had to record with EVERYBODY!! & their mother-[because Chris Squire wasn't enough! ] -So he did!- Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Mike Oldfield, Kitaro [you should check out his site-it's very Mr. Roboto!], & all those weirdos only us REAL MUSICIANS have heard of & that none of you give a crap about when you should!!!]. It's a really pretty song. He also had this really funny dirty song on his Song Of Seven album called "Heart Of The Matter". [He wrote this way before Trevor Rabin made him dirtier!] So he always kicked ass, even alone! It's a fun song, you should try to listen to it. Actually, that particular album, it sounds like his back up band is Styx. This song in particular has little traces of good old Paradise Theatre. [I know I'm gonna get a lotta crap for this.!...-BRING IT ON!!] I never would've put that together before. But lately I just can't get these boys off my mind!! [I wonder why??????]

Well, there's my history lesson for today. You got some pretty cool links if you ask me!! Ask I speak I 'm still wiping off some shine left over from my monster performance on camera last nite. Silly. I'm tired.

HERE'S MY NEW BLOGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!

Yes, I 've done it. Ladies & gentleman, & children of all maniacs, At the request of my very faithful co-horts Ultimate Miss 1/2 ANJY-2 ANJY & the ultra cool STATE STREET SCOTTY, I've have decided to blog myself to oblivion. Meaning I've sucked up to this new technology now way too much don't you think? Have you nothing better to do with your lives??? Well, if you don't then you might as well blog-on to mine. As I will make sure you won't be bored!! Because if you so much as blink the wrong way I'll know about it & I'll write about it. Besides, my kids [named above] have been rather upset they have not been getting my rantings on their newly high-tech camera, which they have been video taping our very insane marathon rehearsals.

I must give credit for the title to the great Ian Hunter. He has a similar title for his little comments on his website, yet its not exactly the same as he answers questions from his admirers. And of course, I spelled it wrong, because it looks better.

I shall be posting I guess, my thoughts on just about anything & everything & everyone that makes me insane. Since some people seem to love to really hear it, I have no problem saying it. I chose the colour black for this since this might get a little ugly sometimes, I also was thinking of Johnny Cash, because he's cool. Thats it. Isn't this a beautiful picture of him? I'm sure that's exactly the way he wanted to be remembered, just like I would. Besides, this blog didn't seem to come in my color-Blue! I do like space & wish there were some stars in the back like my cool Website. But I'm sure my tech friends will help me do that somehow.

The start of this new Blog- The word Blog! Who came up with this word? Everytime I say that word I want to blow chunks. [I tried to find the nicest way I could to say that. I don't want to make anyone sick. But I assure you this will be the only time I will be nice.] Anyway, Technology has got me wired out of my mind. Its a miracle I have this thing I'm writing this on now, at least I'm in my comfy bed & can be mad in the comfort of my own little boudour- [did I spell that right?]. Right now, I'm losing my mind trying to edit this thing, while watching this CMT Duets show, after they had the unmitigated gall to place the Greatest Duet of All-Time: Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer by Kenny Rogers & Kim Carnes at No. 99. Pathetic!!! [Besides of course: Haven't We Been Here Before & 22 Years by our very own Styx!] They had too many newer songs like country music was invented in THE 90'S!!! But what do they know???

[I have to go eat something before I die, it's 4:00 in the morning &
I'm still working on this crap!!! ]

Oh, well, tell me what you think! I really wanna know [yeah, right!],
but please you know I do.
